Mikulov chateau rental

For congresses with a large number of participants, we can arrange for you the beautiful spaces of Mikulov Chateau.

Mikulov Chateau is a Baroque chateau. It stands on a rocky hill called Zámecký vrch and forms one of the landmarks of the town. Some of the chateau premises serve as a permanent exhibition of the Mikulov Regional Museum and as an occasional venue for cultural events such as the annual grape harvest festival.

Originally, a stone Romanesque castle from the times of the Přemyslids stood on the site of the Mikulov chateau. In the 13th century it passed to the Lichtenstein family and began to be rebuilt in the Gothic style.
In 1560, the Lichtensteins sold the castle to Ladislav Kereczenyi, who began to rebuild the castle into the Baroque chateau. When the Dietrichsteins became the new owners of the chateau in 1575, they continued with extensive renovations that culminated under Francis of Dietrichstein. In 1719 the chateau burned down. However, it was again restored and served the needs of the Dietrichsteins until 1945, when it again burned down within the liberation struggles. The chateau was later built according to the design of architect Otakar Oplatek and is now administered by the Regional Museum in Mikulov.

There is the Svatý kopeček Hill in the east and the Turold Hill from the north above the chateau, which is the tip of the Pavlov Hills. The western side opens to the plain, and in the south there is the Šibeniční Hill not far from the town with the Šibeník Pond below.
